GrassRoots Sets Its 32nd Lineup With Old Crow Medicine Show and Mavis Staples
The 32nd Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival announced a July 18 to 21 bill of more than 80 bands in Trumansburg, led by host band Donna the Buffalo, Old Crow Medicine Show and Mavis Staples.

TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. — The Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance announced the lineup for its 32nd annual edition on March 9, 2024, ahead of a four-day run July 18 to 21 at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds.
Founding host band Donna the Buffalo will play multiple days, appearing July 18, July 20 and July 21. Old Crow Medicine Show headlines July 20 and will mark the band’s 25th anniversary, and Mavis Staples headlines July 19.
The non-profit festival has programmed more than 80 bands across four days of music and camping at 2150 Trumansburg Road, roughly ten miles from Ithaca.
The touring bill
Beyond the three headline names, the 2024 roster includes Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Willie Watson, Bombino, Mokoomba, The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr., Keith Frank & The Soileau Zydeco Band, RAM Haiti and Jim Lauderdale.
“Let’s come together to create memories that will last a lifetime at the 32nd Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival,” organizers said in the announcement.
Donna the Buffalo has been the festival’s host band since it began, a role the group also filled at the 2021 weekend.
The Ithaca-area bill is deep
The 2024 lineup leans heavily on Finger Lakes acts. Sim Redmond Band plays July 19 and 21. Gunpoets and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad both play July 19. Fall Creek Brass Band and Johnny Dowd play July 20, and Richie & Rosie play July 20 and 21.

Saturday belongs to the locals
Ithaca farm-punk band Motherwort takes the Cabaret stage at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
Double Tiger, the reggae project of Jay Spaker, appears on the same July 20 bill. Spaker is a former member of John Brown’s Body, the Ithaca reggae band that returns to the road this year under its own name.
Ticket timing
Early Bird pricing is in effect, and prices are scheduled to rise to the Advance Rate on May 1.
The 32nd edition follows the 31st annual festival at the same Trumansburg site.
