The 8th annual Ithaca Reggae Fest takes over Stewart Park June 26-28, and the closing day is the headline: Third World and The Skatalites both play Sunday, June 28.
Friday opens with a free welcome party featuring The Night Nurse on the decks, Cha Cha & Notorious Stringbusters, and the GIAC Jumpers. Saturday starts slow and civilized with a free yoga session led by Yoga Farm Ithaca, then runs music from midday on with Easy Star Records’ Flying Vipers, funk-soul-hip-hop trio Sophistafunk, 10 Ft. Ganja Plant, and Jesse Royal.
The festival is all ages, and it ties itself to environmental protection work on Cayuga Lake, which is about as Ithaca a detail as a festival can have.
