Mountain Jam 2009 Lineup

Warren Haynes returns to Hunter Mountain for the 5th annual Mountain Jam Festival May 29th to May 31st. This years acts include a Sunday night headlining performance by The Allman Brothers Band and of course two nights of Gov’t Mule on Friday and Saturday night. This is one festival that really puts a great focus on jam band artists. This years lineup features Umphrey’s McGee who put on a killer show last year as well as U-Melt, The Brew, Porter Batiste Stoltz & many others.

Two years ago I had the pleasure of going to this show and it was a blast regardless of the 3 days of torrential downpours. One of the things I like about Mountain Jam is that while they do bring jam band staples Spearhead & Umphrey’s McGee back each year they also bring in new acts year in and year out.

The side by side 2 stage setup is one that should be replicated at festivals across the country. The organizers place two stages side by side at the bottom of the slopes to create an amazing mountain side amphitheater. While one band is tearing down and setting up the next band is playing for the masses.

If you’re in the northeast this is one festival you don’t want to miss.
