Video: UMPH’s New Light System & Jake’s Shred

Umphrey’s McGee is redefining the concert experience this year by being one of the first bands to take the Mac III light system on the road with them.

This is the same light system being used by Phish this weekend at the Hampton Shows and will be on tour with them this year as well.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated advancements in moving light technology, this fixture combines the size of an architectural searchlight with the speed of the aforementioned Mac 2k. All of the components that “move” over the lens of the light are glass, making all of your looks very defined and almost tangible. Jefferson has a look in Cemetery Walk at the chorus that appears like you can reach out and touch the beams. I guess you’ll have to drop in to see what I mean.
