I woke up this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see a great new iPhone app in the iTunes store. For $1.99 you get access to over 70,000 live concerts from over 2,800 bands hosted by the Live Music Archive. This includes the likes of Umphrey’s McGee, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, moe., Keller Williams, Toubab Krewe, John Brown’s Body, YMSB, and countless others.
Features
- Search for your favorites bands
- Added a show to your favorites list
- View recently listened to shows
- See the average user rating of a show
Don’t think you need this app? Imagine driving to your favorite festival. At the end of the weekend when your driving back home you can now listen to any of the live recordings from the weekend that tapers have uploaded to The Live Music Archive.
We’ve been testing the app out in the office today and it seams to work flawlessly on both 3G & WI-FI. Some users have complained about poor streaming performance on slower connections but the author says an update is awaiting approval in the app store that resolves this issue.
