ROCHESTER, NY – After leaving Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad in 2010 we knew it was only a matter of time before Matt & Rachel would form a new band. Well that time is here. Introducing Thunder Body a brand spankin’ new original roots reggae band with  Matthew O’Brian (GPGDS founder, lead singer), Rachel Orke (GPGDS), Dennis Mariano, Jeremiah Pacheco, and Brian Blatt.

The first thing you’ll notice about this is band is that while O’Brian played guitar & vocals in GPGDS he now plays drums & vocals in Thunderbody.

We’re glad to see there was enough talent in GPGDS to sustain two bands. The current members of GPGDS have been doing well as a quartet playing to bigger crowds & festivals with a sound that has evolved and matured in it’s own right. Thunder Body is establishing itself as a player in the emerging upstate reggae scene with a full melodic reggae sound featuring excellent song writing & talented musicianship.

The band has played a handful of dates over the past several months, launched a website, & an account on The Live Music Archive. Expect more tour dates to be announced in early 2011.
