Hill Country Revue Live @ The Pour House 08.28.2008 SBD MP3

North Mississippi All-Stars went on hiatus earlier this year when Lurher Dickinson went on to join The Black Crowes. Since then Cody Dickinson from the NMA, and fellow Allstar Chris Chew, joined up with Kirk Smithhart, Ed Cleveland and Daniel Robert Coburn to form Hill Country Revue.

This set from the Pour House includes some great NMA tracks, some new originals, and a great cover of Gov’t Mule’s “I’m A Ram.” It’s great to see some Mule on The Archive!

More on HCR:

The band encompasses contemporary, modern blues for the new generation. The sound of the band is very simalar to what we are used to hearing from NMA.

They recently announced a winter tour that will see them playing in Texas, California, Arizona, the mid-west, Chicago, and Mississippi.

What many of you may not know is NMA will be back on the road in 2009 with a newly released winter tour with Hill Country Revue opening for many if not all of the shows.
