Slightly Stoopid: Living in the Moment. Slightly Stoopid is a reggae band based out of Ocean Beach, California. They are known for their energetic live shows and for having a devoted fan base. Drummer Ryan “RyMo” Moran recently wrote in to discuss his favorite drummers. BTJ: How old were you when you first started playing drums? RyMo: I started getting into drums around the age of 12 or so. A friend of mine bought me a pair of drumsticks and I started banging on pots, pans, cookie tins etc. BTJ: What was the first concert you went to? RyMo: I saw the Who’s 25th anniversary tour in 1989. I saw Motley Crue and Faster Pussycat...

While cruising Giant Panda Guerila Dub Squad’s website a few months ago we saw they were touring with a band from California called Rebelution. We checked out their website and were immediately impressed with their unique fusion of reggae and rock made popular by Sublime in the 90′s. Opening for Slightly Stoopid at the best venue in Buffalo, Rebelution threw down with intense reggae rhythms and chest pounding bass. The ladies were out in force dressed to kill and ready to dance. The band started off with “Other Side” off their Courage To Grow album with fans singing along for most of the show. This set also features two new songs “Outta Control” & “Brighter...

Slightly Stoopid made a stop in Buffalo this past Sunday and gave their fans a show to remember. Even though it was a Sunday night you couldn’t tell from the screaming throngs of fans that packed the venue. The band describes their music as “a fusion of acoustic rock and blues with reggae, hip-hop, and punk.” You can expect all of that and more at a Slightly Stoopid show. The band puts on a high energy performance seamlessly changing up from intense reggae beats, high energy punk, to soulful hip hop. To grab the lossless files head over to The Archive.
