Austin City Limits Music Festival returns to Zilker Park October 2nd to 4th. The festival in it’s 8th year has become one of the top festival in the nation. This years lineup includes headliners Pearl Jam and Ben Harper along with many other jam bands such as MMW, The Avett Brothers, Levon Helm Band, The Wood Brothers, and many others. Jack White will be performing with his new band Dead Weather as well. The festival organizers have moved the festival to October this year for the first time after years of festival goers having to deal with oppressive heat. After listening to some Citizen Cope over the weekend I was stoked to find out this morning he is currently in the studio working on his forthcoming album titled ‘The Rainwater LP’. February 2010 is the scheduled release date and they’ll have an announcement regarding pre-sale orders soon! Look out in the coming months for Cope to release the first track, ‘Keep Asking’ on www.citizencope. com Clarence and the band will be heading south at the end of the month for a short run, including shows in Columbia, SC. and Sunfest in West Palm Beach, FL. Bonnaroo 2009 Lineup
June 11th – 14th 2009 Bonnaroo returns for it’s 7th year with a little bit of everything for all types of music fans. This festival is no longer the jam band staple that it was in its early years when Phil Lesh & Friends played before 100,000 people in a farmers field but with the addition of Phish to the lineup we’re going to give it some press here at BandsThatJam. Since being bought by Clear Channel the festival has taken on a more alternative line up with a much more commercialized atmosphere.
