Buffalo Place Rocks The Harbor

BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Place has announced all of the acts for the 2011 Rocks The Harbor concert series.

Flogging Molly is the latest band to be added to the downtown concert series by Buffalo Place. They will perform with special guest Badfish (a Sublime tribute band) on Sunday, July 31st at Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf. The punk/celtic band is touring this summer in support of their latest album Speed of Darkness which is expected to release on May 31, 2011 under their own new record label Borstal Beat Records. Tickets for this show will be $10 in advance & $20 day of the show.

15 time Juno Awarding winning Canadien band the Tragically Hip will be playing in downtown Buffalo on July 30th at the Erie Harbor Marina. Tickets for this show will be $46 unlike many of the other shows at the Harbor which are $10 in advance & $20 day of the show.

The highly acclaimed Grateful Dead cover band Dark Star Orchestra will perform with special guest Soul Live on Friday June 24th and Grammy winning artist Elvis Costello & the Imposters  will perform on Saturday June 25th.

King of Shock Rock Alice Cooper will play Friday August 26th and Great Big Sea will play Saturday August 27th.

This year the booking of the bands at Buffalo Place Rocks The Harbor concerts is being handled by Fun Time Presents the same folks that book shows at the Town Ballroom & Art Park in Lewiston, NY. More concert announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
 

2011 Buffalo Rocks The Harbor Schedule

Tickets for these shows will also be available at Buffalo Place Inc., beginning Friday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. Buffalo Place Inc. is headquartered at 671 Main Street in Downtown Buffalo. Originally launched in 1998 as a celebration of Buffalo’s Inner Harbor Redevelopment Project, past performers such as Citizen Cope, moe, The Avett Brothers, YMSB, John Butler Trio, Violent Femmes, Umphrey’s McGee, Gov’t Mule, moe., & The Black Crowes have rocked the harbor. The event is part of the Buffalo Place Summer Concert Series, which includes Thursday at the Square. These events draw record crowds into Downtown Buffalo and create spin-off business for bars, restaurants and dance clubs.

Thursday at The Square 2011 Lineup will be announced May 12th. The first concert will be Thursday June 16th.
