The McLovins | Norfolk CT | 10.17.2009
McLovins have a sound and talent that is beyond their years. The band that got it’s start covering Phish songs in their parent’s basement and posting them on YouTube is now on the Live Music Archive.
The trio is comprised of Jake (drums), Jason (bass) and Jeff (guitar) and have a unique ability for live improvisation. Even though they were in middle (and even elementary) school when Phish went on hiatus in 2004 they didn’t let their age interfere with their passion. The band draws from many different influences from jazz and funk to soul and rock.

Even though they are still teenagers they have established themselves as true players in the jam band scene. Just this past summer they played for a large crowd at the 2009 Gathering of the Vibes.
The McLovin’s currently have a string of tour dates in the Northeast including stops at the Sullivan Hall in NYC and an opening gig for Marco Benevento on 12.05 in Collinsville, CT.
This featured download on The Live Music Archive is a soundboard matrix recorded in October at The Barn in Norfolk, CT. It features some great covers as well songs off the band’s new album Conundrum – available now on iTunes.
