The Motet FREE Album Download “Dig Deep”
With its 6th release, Dig Deep, The Motet once again proves that it is a group committed to exploring and pushing the sonic envelope, while still remaining dedicated to the musical traditions that have defined their sound. A heavy-horned afrobeat influence countered with a textural blanket of electronica, this album showcases the talents and strengths of the cast of characters that drummer and producer Dave Watts has assembled. New Old: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Keyboardist Joey Porter lays down the funk under the coursing melodies of saxophonist Dominic Lalli in pure Motet fashion, with the ever-driving beats of Watts’ masterful rhythmic production pushing the music through sonic peaks and valleys that tantalize…
Gov’t Mule Rocks The Harbor 08.02.2009 Buffalo NY
Last year we witnessed the band play Art Park in nearby Lewiston NY at probably the best venue in WNY. Gov’t Mule made the trek up river this year and played the best rock/blues in the country for the Buffalo faithful. This year the Erie Harbor Basin was the party spot for the rock legends massive following. The crowd here was the biggest we’ve seen at the waterfront with Warren attracting the old timers, bikers, and the festival kids as well. Warren opened the set with John The Revolver and had those who brought chairs on their feet by the time he got into the 2nd song Banks On The Deep End. Warren opened the…
Hill Country Revue @ Lafayette Square Buffalo, NY 07.09.09 MP3 + Photos
Hill Country Revue played a great show in Buffalo last night! For the first time all year it didn’t rain at the free concert series downtown in the Queen City. We had a blast catching up with old friends and listening to the best blues in the country. Cody Dickenson was awesome on the guitar and simply phenomenal on the electric psychedelic wash board. The rest of the band was tight and played a high energy show before a big crowd. You Can Make It: [Audio clip: view full post to listen] Click image below for full slide show! Dub Trio Free Download & Tour Info w/ Matisyahu
Dub and noise metal are usually not two musical genres that go hand in hand. But then again, Dub Trio is not your ordinary band. Specializing in almost exclusively instrumental material, the group is comprised of guitarist D.P. Holmes, bassist Stu Brooks, and drummer Joe Tomino. It should come as no surprise that all three members are extremely skilled players and much sought after sessionmen. In fact, the lists of who they’ve played with sounds like a who’s who of the biggest names in the hip-hop and pop worlds of the early 21st century — the Fugees, Bo Bice, G-Unit, Tony Yayo, Mobb Deep, Common, Mos Def, and Macy Gray, among others. Dub Trio just…

Rebelution | Town Ballroom 03.22.2009 | MP3 *SBD*
While cruising Giant Panda Guerila Dub Squad’s website a few months ago we saw they were touring with a band from California called Rebelution. We checked out their website and were immediately impressed with their unique fusion of reggae and rock made popular by Sublime in the 90′s. Opening for Slightly Stoopid at the best venue in Buffalo, Rebelution threw down with intense reggae rhythms and chest pounding bass. The ladies were out in force dressed to kill and ready to dance. The band started off with “Other Side” off their Courage To Grow album with fans singing along for most of the show. This set also features two new songs “Outta Control” & “Brighter…
The Band 1973 Roosevelt Stadium Jersey City, NJ | MP3
One of the most influencial bands of all time. The Band has influenced countless bands, songwriters, and performers, from the Grateful Dead and Beatles to Eric Clapton and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Other bands have covered their songs including Umphrey’s McGee, Widespread Panic, Derek Trucks Band, & The Black Crowes. This is a fantastic close-miked stereo soundboard bootleg. Fantastic performances by all members of the band, with extended jams. You can download stream and download FREE MP3′s for this show from Tauthaul.com. This show is the second night of a two day run at the now defunct Roosevelt Stadium in New Jersey. I was able to find these details on The Band’s website. There…
Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad | 04.09.09 | MP3 *SBD*
G.P.G.D.S is defining east coast reggae every night out with its intense dubs, melodic guitar play, and amazing improv. The band finally had a chance to play the “Pirate Ship” aka Nietzsche’s in Buffalo, NY and raised the roof with two sets of intense original reggae. The bands music can be described as lively, roots reggae, with soul, and a psychedelic appeal. After playing a few shows in the suburbs it was great to see the band play before a heady crowd in downtown Buffalo. The band from Rochester is fresh off an east coast tour with west coast reggae sensations Rebelution that saw them playing from NY to Florida. 2009 is already looking like…
