Horace Moore is the archivist for Widespread Panic. He heads up the band’s archival multitrack releases, Porch Songs releases and podcasts. McClain Johnson: When did you first become interested in tape trading? Horace Moore: It was kind of interesting, because I grew up in southeast Georgia. All I had growing up was the radio and 8-tracks and just one record store. It was kind of Top 40 oriented. I can remember back in grade school, high school, just getting worn out on the same version of a song.
Bank of America Pavilion Boston 7.24.10 by Michael Spencer Widespread Perfection It was just one of those nights. Weather as if you’d called god and ordered it, exuberant dancing fans unrivaled in energy by any “scene,” and oh yeah…a near perfect set list from one of the best bands currently working.
Widespread Panic announced that they will act as the finale to this year’s Bonnaroo Festival, headlining a performance on Sunday evening, June 15th. I’m glad to see Widespread Panic being added to this festival. With the previous announcements of Metallica & Perl Jam Bonnaroo has completely lost it’s title as “best jam band festival.” Its good to see that Clear Channel hasn’t completely alienated the core fans that created this festival. The band had this to say in its newsletter today. Known for their incomparable live shows, Widespread Panic will close the festival in the great rock tradition with what is sure to be an epic and unforgettable festival finale. This will mark Bonnaroo’s 7th...
