Phish Review From Starlight In Kansas City
KANSAS CITY – Phish played a sold out show in Kansas City show August 22nd at Starlight. I have been a Phish fan for around 7 years, but it was my first time seeing them live. It was one of the tightest, most skilled musical experiences I have ever seen. The crowd 10,000 was in party mode all night. The setlist seemed to favor many classic Phish tunes. Songs would effortlessly flow from genre to genre. They weave textures together in ways only Phish can. Phish still has an unmistakable and unclassifiable sound. The interplay between the band was tight all evening, however, they stopped after almost every song. “Chalk Dust Torture” started the show…
Phish to Release Hampton/Winston-Salem ’97 Box Set
Phish has just announced the long awaited 7 CD Box Set  showcasing three complete shows from 1997. The box set will include 2 nights at the Hamton Coliseum in Virginia, and one night at the legendary Memorial Coliseum, in Winston-Salem, NC. According to Jemp Records who is releasing the CD set on December 6th: “These shows were a memorable triad for the band and fans. They are among the most requested shows for release from the Phish Archives and make up a compelling slice of the twenty-two-show tour that stretched from Las Vegas to Albany. The Hampton/Winston-Salem ’97shows were packed with notable renditions of classics including “Split Open And Melt”, “AC/DC Bag”, “Slave To The Traffic Light”, “Mike’s…

Review: Phish @ Merriweather 6.11.11
Review by Kevin Hill COLUMBIA, MD – Saturday night  the boys from Vermont braved the sweltering heat to kick off their two night stint at Merriweather Post Pavilion with a cool rendition of fan favorite, and tour rarity “Daniel Saw the Stone”. Quite the launching pad, and quite a high bar to set, but over the next couple of hours, the band played with a seemingly limitless amount of energy and didn’t let up for a second. Powering through two muscular sets, highlighted by a ripping ACDC Bag, a gorgeous Reba and an absolutely mind warping Sand, this newer/stronger/better Phish (we can rebuild them!) is playing tighter than they have in years. The jams are…

Review: Phish @ PNC 5.31.2011
Photos by Brian Ferguson HOLMDEL, NJ – Making my way back to the PNC Bank Arts Center after several years to see one of favorite bands was an exciting trip. Once I heard Phish was doing a two-night run at the outdoor amphitheater, I could not pass up the opportunity. I saw my first concert ever at the PNC Bank Arts Center, and witnessing the spectacular that was Phish at this venue after not being there for a couple of years made it all that more enjoyable. Kicking off their Summer Tour in Bethel Woods, New York, and coming in hot off the three-night run, expectations were high in the air for Phish Tuesday evening,…

Phish | Blossom | 6.4.2011
CLEVELAND, OH – Phish continued it’s 2011 Summer Tour this past weekend with a 3 night run across the midwest. We had a chance to catch up with the band at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls State Park on Saturday night. This show featured a notable cover of Little Feats Rocket In My Pocket and a new debut song titled Steam written by Trey Anastasio & Tom Marshal. First set highlights included Guyute and set closer Run Like An Antelope. After a somewhat subdued first set Phish turned things up in the 2nd set with opener Birds Of A Feather, new song Steam (which I really enjoyed), and a high energy Lizard & a dirty Sneakin’…
