Interview: Keller Williams
Keller’s musical career is on fire. His recent Kdubalicious album titled simply, “Bass” kicked off last December, and as we write this he’s doing his best to keep the Travelin’ McCourys from fishing off the boat during Jam Cruise. Â I’ve seen Keller play with everyone from The String Cheese Incident to the Rhythm Devils, and caught up with him recently at his show in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Blind Pig. Â Based on the track he shared with us (scroll all the way down), I can’t wait to see him with the Travelin’ McCourys next summer. Bands That Jam: Â Welcome to Michigan Keller. Â Thanks for sitting down to talk with Bands That Jam. Â What were…
24 Hours Until I Interview Keller Williams at the Blind Pig
There’s no one quite like Keller, with his bare feet, jumping around the stage playing one instrument and making it sound like a dozen. I’ll be sitting down to talk with Keller about his music, his upcoming “K-Dubalicious” album and what he’s been listening to on tour. As a service to BTJ fans, I’d love to know what burning questions you may have for Keller. Â Feel free to post responses here, on Facebook, or via twitter and I’ll get them into the interview. Â I last saw Keller at the 2011 Electric Forest Festival, where he played an amazing afternoon show. If you’re in Michigan, there’s still time to pick up tickets for his show at…
Summer Camp: Keller Williams
Keller’s just so damn cute you want to take him home and make him a peanut butter sammich, watch cartoons and chill. Would have loved to see the new “Keller & the Keels” but alas this was a solo performance. One of the biggest issues I had with Summer Camp is that Keller supposedly “gave away his shoes”. This is an issue because every time I’ve seen the guy (even in northern michigan in the 40′s) he doesn’t wear shoes. Keep it casual, Keller. Great show, happy dancing music on a late afternoon / early evening set.
Album Review | Keller & The Keels | Thief
Keller & The Keels: Thief Review by Tim Hurley Normally cover albums draw a lot of skepticism as they tend to be just excuses to pump an album out, which is usually comprised of shoddy renditions of popular artists’s song. And the same could be said about Keller Williams and the Keels’ new release, aptly titled Thief, if it were not for the oddly redeeming but sparkling choices presented in this collection.

Keller Williams | 08.09.07 | Buffalo
I missed the show this week at Lafayette Square as I was camping at Allegheny State Park for the week. I had planned on coming back on Thursday but I was having too much fun in the wilderness to make it back to town midweek. After listening to the show I’m kicking myself for not making it. I’m sure the hippies of Buffalo were glad to hear a few Greatful Dead jams including the encore “Women Are Smarter.” KW is one of a kind musician who has played jam festival Bonnaroo and Red Rocks. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to KW yet I’d highly recommend downloading this high quality set. The show…
Preview: Keller Williams 08.09.07
Keller Williams will be performing this Thursday as part of the free summer concert series here in upstate NY. For those of you who are not familiar with Keller Williams he hails from Fredericksburg, VA and plays a combination of folk music, bluegrass, and reggae, alternative, and funk.Keller puts on a unique performance by hooking his Gibson guitar into a Echoplex delay system. This allows him to create loops on stage so he can have the sound of an entire band while only performing by himself on stage. Instruments that he plays include the harmonica, trumpet, didgeridoo and a host of other assorted instruments.Be sure to check back this weekend for pics, show download information,…
